The ancient greeks were similar to the messenger Garcia. They were both hardworking. They both took their jobs seriously and handles them well. For example, ancient greeks would build their houses out of adobe for their families. They wouldn't need other peoples help and they didn't complain about doing it. Just like Garcia. He did his job and he did it well without asking unnecessary questions.
Socrates and Garcia were also both very dedicated. They didn't care about money, fame, or power. They just wanted to do their job to the best of their ability. This is why they were so well known by people. They inspired others to want to be like them because they knew if they were they would be good people and would be treated well. Many people looked up to Garcia and Socrates.
Socrates was the wisest philosopher of his time, just like Garcia who was the best messenger of his time. Just like stated before they were both hardworking, dedicated men who did the job right all the time. This gained them respect and this respect inspired them to keep doing well and keep working to their max. That is what people want, to be respected so as time went on more and more people started learning that if you work like Socrates or Garcia does you would be respected as much as they are. They realized that its better to do the job right and be respected then to do it wrong and be rejected.
Many people look up to ancient greeks such as Socrates and people like Garcia because they know how much of an impact they had on their culture.

Message to Garcia Reflection
This essay shows us how different people in the world work. Some are hardworking and do things with out being told, others have to be told many times before completing the task. It is better to be that person that does the job right without being told. This concept applies to my life in many ways. Everyday I have the option to sit at home and lay on the couch when i get home from school. But i choose to do my homework because i know it will help me in the end. I don't sit there and wait for my Mom to remind me that i have to do my homework. I read online that it is hard these days to find workers who obey instructions without needless questions. I want to be one of those people. One that can complete assignments, or work hard without having supervision. I feel that i am already at that point where I can take a responsibility and hands it by myself. I don't need someone else help. I know i can deal with it alone. However, this doesn't mean that some questions are bad. If it is going to help you deal with these responsibilities or problems then ask.

First day at JC
Vonnie Lidie
My first day at John Carroll was a
success. I met a lot of new friends and my teachers. I had a lot of info thrown
at me today that is going to be hard to remember but I’ll figure it out.
Everyone is very welcoming and they all make me feel accepted here at JC. I’m a
little scared about the grading system here because I’m used to a different one
from public school. I feel like it’s going to be a hard transition going from
public to private school because the standards are higher. But I feel that
after a few weeks I’ll be used to everything. I’m excited to meet new people in
class and through sports. One goal that I have for this year is to just push
through and get good grades, A’s and B’s. Everyone at JC is a family and I’m
happy to be a part of it.
